Meet Mitchel Lewadny

Practitioner · Martial Artist · Meditation Advocate

Mitchel began his studies at ACATCM, during which time he was awarded a scholarship for academic excellence by the Calgary Chinese Herbal Society. In 2018 he observed at several leading acupuncture hospitals around China. He has also assimilated a variety of disciplines into his practice — including Master Tung Acupuncture, Dr. Tan’s Balance Method, and Level 1 practice of HSM moxibustion therapy.

Mitchel has a personal passion for treating neurological conditions, nerve pain, migraine, adrenal fatigue, and chronic pain — and specialises in the neck and shoulder regions. He also has experience treating mental health concerns, digestive issues, and auto-immune disorders.

Beyond his clinical practice, Mitchel is a co-owner and instructor at the Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy. With over twenty-five years of experience in martial arts and Ashtanga yoga — and a long list of personal injuries — he draws from his own history as an athlete when treating musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain. He also serves as a clinic supervisor at ACATCM, is a strong advocate for mindfulness, and sits on the board of directors of the Marpa Gompa Meditation Society.

Off the clock and when not devoting time to his developmental routines, Mitchel loves being outdoors, travelling, relaxing at a café, or nerding out at home.

I.

Specialised Methods

Three integrated approaches at the heart of Mitchel’s clinical practice:

I.

Master Tung’s Acupuncture

A distinguished lineage of empirical points outside the standard meridians — known for immediate effect on pain and complex disorders.

II.

Dr. Tan’s Balance Method

A modern channel-balancing system developed by Dr. Tan Teh-Fu — fast-acting, classical-theory-driven, particularly effective for pain.

III.

Heat-Sensitive Moxibustion HSM · Level 1

A refined moxibustion technique targeting points of heat sensitivity — effective for stubborn conditions resistant to conventional approaches.

I believe that Traditional Chinese Medicine’s greatest strength lies in its versatility — and its ability to harness the incredible healing potential contained within us. I feel honoured to perform this discipline and support my patients on their journey towards wellness.
