Who we are
Founded in 1997, our clinic began as the onsite clinic for the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACATCM). Over the years, we have expanded our services to provide specialized acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine treatments for a variety of health conditions.
At Huatuo Clinic, we are dedicated to providing safe and effective treatments to our patients. Our experienced practitioners have years of expertise in addressing a wide range of health concerns, from chronic pain to mental health issues. We take a holistic approach to patient care, addressing the root causes of health conditions to promote long-term healing and well-being.
Our clinic is also a leading research facility, committed to advancing the understanding of traditional Chinese medicine and its integration with conventional medicine. We have successfully completed the Complementary Health Integration Project and are currently involved in The Society Health Integration Project, which aims to provide an innovative approach to help Albertans facing challenges in areas of mental health, acute and chronic pain, and overall wellness.
In addition to providing specialty acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine practices, Huatuo Clinic is the designated training clinic for ACATCM Residents. This partnership allows us to contribute to the education and training of the next generation of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine practitioners.

suffered from planter fasciitis for the second time. Last time I tried anti inflammatory, physiotherapy and massage, but it persisted almost a year. This time it started on the other side and it was associated with PTTD. It was crippling me. I trymy family doctor who suggested physio again. I refused and decided to try acupuncture as advised from my husband who heard from his work colleague that a similar problem.

I chose Dr. Kyle Picard who is my personal friend. As an acupuncturist. he is a magician. He explained every detail before and during the procedure. I had only 2 sessions , and a2 days after it showed the effects. Within 2 weeks it’s gone. I can walk without ankle brace and my life is back to normal π

I was so appreciative to find Dr Yang Li on a Sunday when I was having a pain flare up! He listened to my concerns and I felt immediate relief after the treatment. I've been to many acupuncturists and I highly recommend him.
I had neck pain for two days, and a sudden stabbing pain in my head at night. I couldn't sleep at all. I made an appointment with Dr. Li at 2:30 in the middle of the night. I received acupuncture and moxibustion in the clinic at 9:00 in the morning. After the treatment, I could move my neck flexibly. , the head is also much lighter and there is no pain when pressed. Dr. Mitchel Lewadny is the best! Fixed my chronic cough that various western experts and treatments could not.
The public fascia of my toe has been inflamed for more than half a year, and all the Western medicine and anti-inflammatory ointments have no effect! I recently went to Dr. Yang Li for acupuncture and moxibustion. I think it was cured after just two sessions and there was no more pain. I have seen Dr. Li in the past. He is always professional and has superb medical skills. I definitely recommend him!

Coming to the 12th or 20th location, is always a fantastic experience. I see students and they are all so knowledgeable, helpful and caring. I have been going to Kerrie 2x a week for about 8 months and her colleague Jieun which has been an absolute amazing experience. I’ve become calmer in my mind, my leg has improved so much and I wouldn’t be walking today as well as I am if it weren’t for these two working so well to help me heal. They take the time to care for me and made suggestion and helpful tips. My sessions are focused on Accpuncture and helping with stress or a broken legI am a believer of the service they offer at the clinic. I booked an acupuncture appointment in the morning. 25 mins after my appointment time I still hadn't been seen for my 1hour appt. It was obvious the desk had forgotten about me and when I asked why it took so long as I had other appointments to go to after, the lady at the front desk said Dr. Kyle was working on other people. Disappointing for sure. I will find another clinic that cares.
The staff are so friendly. I love the TCM doctor I am working with, she is lovely. I am getting acupuncture for my Epilepsy and they are doing everything they can to help me feel better. I have had one session, and I felt my body in a positive state is has not been for awhile. I will continue with this therapy.

It has been 2 months since I first saw Dr. Cong. I can clearly feel that my body is getting healthier and healthier, and my blood pressure has also increased from 150-160 at the beginning to 120-130 now. Dr. Cong is a very gentle and patient person who makes people feel very warm. Her medical skills make me feel the profoundness of traditional Chinese medicine.

100% Super friendly staff. Everything from booking to insurance processing was perfectly smooth for my every trip there. I love how they have a parking space on the second level of the building and there's no need to pay for street parking. Shout out to Dr. Helen Wang, I went in to see her on a weekly basis. She's wonderful! Upon initial assessment, she pointed out the root causes to my issue and also mentioned a few more conditions which I had but didn't mention as I thought they were unrelated to the issue I wanted to fix, which was a pretty cool thing. And by following her instructions after treatments, I saw actual improvement to my conditions within weeks. I also like how she tells you, before her accupuncture treatment begins, about how your body will feel during the treatment; it might not seem much, but for someone who's a bit scared of needles, that really helps. I had an acupuncture treatment this past weekend with Dr. Helen Tran for tight glutes, hamstrings, and lower back pain, likely from sitting at a desk all day for work. This was my first time trying electro acupuncture and fire cupping, and after the session, I felt an incredible release in all those areas that I haven’t experienced in a long time.
