Where can I get acupuncture in Calgary?
Huatuo Clinic provides acupuncture in Calgary at two locations — Beltline (Downtown SW) and Banff Trail (NW) — with CAA-registered acupuncturists across nineteen specialty programs.
Is acupuncture covered by insurance in Alberta?
Most extended health benefit plans in Alberta — including Alberta Blue Cross, Sun Life, Manulife, Green Shield, and Canada Life — cover acupuncture when provided by a registered acupuncturist. Huatuo Clinic submits claims directly.
How much does an acupuncture appointment cost?
An initial acupuncture consultation and treatment is $125; a follow-up is $95. A reduced-fee residents’ clinic option is available at $25.
Who will I see at my appointment?
Standard appointments are conducted by our team of experienced, CAA-registered acupuncturists. A separate residents’ clinic option ($25) is available with care provided by ACATCM residents under direct faculty supervision.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Most patients describe acupuncture as essentially painless. Needles are sterile, single-use, and approximately the diameter of a strand of hair.
How many appointments will I need?
Treatment course length depends on the condition. Acute musculoskeletal complaints often improve over three to six visits; chronic conditions are typically managed with longer courses.
Can acupuncture be used during IVF or fertility treatment?
Acupuncture is widely used in conjunction with fertility care. Huatuo Clinic’s fertility program coordinates appointment timing with the patient’s reproductive medicine schedule.

Same-day appointments are sometimes available at both Calgary locations. Patients are asked to call the clinic or book online.
